Actually, I do not see the greed coming from the 20 and 30 year olds. I see a sense of entitlement......they feel they got through college, etc. and they feel they are entitled to a good job and making good money. BUT.....what generation set that up? That's right.....their parents' generation. We wanted it all.....the high paying jobs that we worked so hard at and left the raising of our kids in the hands of others. We also fell into the gotta have it all material possession trap. They just learned from us. Now, my young adult ste-son looks at me, and will ask right out, hey, you and my dad worked like crazy for so many years......what do you now have to show for it? So, what's the point in all this killing yourself for a job?
That generation......they are waking up FAST!!! Out of college, new degrees in hand, many with interships under their belts......and guess what......they cannot find jobs.
I use to be very scared about what is going on.....now, I just take each day as it comes. You know the only thing I really miss -- going on trips. Major cut backs on that expense.
We will all get through it..........and it will be interesting.
